I could have made so much money with ads on Amethyst. It's not even fun.
I doubt it. Wouldn't have used it even once.
That's what everybody says.. and they keep using it. There are large studies on this. Nobody likes ads. Nobody wants them. But they don't stop using apps that adopt ads. It works on gaming, media, socials, tools, etc. So much so, that Netflix and others are now adding ads to their usual PAID plans and nobody is cancelling their subscriptions. Same with crappy games and crappy apps in general.
For some cases, users suffer ads to avoid paying or to reduce subscriptions. The value:suffer ratio has to be positive.

I refuse to admit that you make a good point, but good point.
In this case it has to do with choice. I could pick a different client, but I can't choose another Prime client.
In my own use, I do use services that have ads less. Maybe that's a win for them because they get to keep the subscription but don't have to serve me content.
Makes sense. Most people don't want to spend any money. Even with us. I think about 95% of our users have never zapped our devs... So, for them ads is kind of the normal way. :(
