Yes, it works well for that 1% of users. But everyone else will have to trust custodians.

It seems to me that lightning was oversold.

It definitely has its uses, and for those specific things it works really well (b2b), but the whole, "hyperbitcoinization will happen and people will never touch the main chain" narrative seems fucking stupid if lightning is to be the only scaling solution.
