You could also view it as everyday is closer to modern freedom with bitcoin because everyday there's also more and more people like you and me saying no to cbdc and slavery and saying yes to freedom money.

I’m not happy to be free if there is people who don’t understand Bitcoin or other non state currencies, be enslaved by state money because ignorance. That’s not fair!
I, for one, do not understand.
Been trying to grok it for years.
There are many ways to store value and separate from state, like having gold or silver, and modern digital solutions like Bitcoin or Monero!
There are some ways to separate money from state, but isn’t common knowledge because if that knowledge was common, the state would not have the power over people that it have…
I understand the desire to decentralize ownership of stuff. That part is the part that makes the most sense to me. However, I am not convinced that crypto is doing that... In fact, I think crypto is actually faking decentralization.
I would love to be proven wrong.
I'll use bitcoin as an example, since that is what seems to make nostr so popular.
1. 60%-70% of the Bitcoin blockchain is run on computers in China.
2. 1k clusters own 2 million BTC.
3. 10k clusters own 4 million BTC.
This to me sounds like not decentralization.
Have you ever listen about Monero?
Have you ever listen about Dero?
Or are you talking about ETH, XRP, Quant?
I know Bitcoin have some problems but is the best fighter agains state money and marketcap shows that well.
If it is decentralized or centralized only the future will show that
Much of the mining of the Monero privacycoin is done by a single mining pool named MineXMR.
I have never heard of Dero. 🤷🏻♂️
I feel that if Bitcoin is the "best fighter" then crypto is not looking good.
From my perspective, crypto/web3 is not decentralized. It is REcentralized.
It removes money from government/state hands and gives it to a handful of strangers running the largest pools on whatever relevant blockchain. I don't think that is an improvement.
Do you know any better solution?
There is room for improvements, but if we do nothing we put ourselves in a worst situation
