I concur! I've been using it for a couple years.
If you watch videos on other platforms like rumble and twitch along with YouTube. https://grayjay.app/ is a good app with all them included with same functionality of newpipe. I been testing it out lately and its pretty solid.
It's pretty stable, these days.
For a while, I feel like Youtube was messing with them, and it was frequently broken.
