Some of her language ("as we de-industrialize") might be off-putting, but this is an excellent video on using willow as living fences. And it's the fence that keeps on giving: the summer prunings are great fodder for ruminants, the winter prunings can be used for baskets.

I'm trying to move away from YT, but some stuff on there is so useful! We're playing around with the idea of a willow fence for our chicken run.

I just watched that video yesterday. Really amazing stuff! There's so many opportunities that we aren't even aware of.
Same for me! I was thinking of buying a new phone, but my old phone still works. And, if I stack them sats instead, it will be way cheaper later.

Did you ever think of adding another section at the bottom of your bitcoin space heater to include an off-the-shelf hepa filter? It could purify the air and reduce dust accumulation in the S9 miner.
I have too, and I love it!
Cool π
My mom has a bunch of SCOBYs at home but it would tricky sending it across the border to you.
I've made both kombucha and jun. Jun is way fizzier. But they are both tasty.
I've made jun before. It's pretty easy. You just need to find a SCOBY.
So are you saying that Newton would have told us to stay humble and stack sats? π€
I guess I may be high maintenance then. π€·ββοΈ π
This is what #selfdirectedlearning looks like this week:
Lima bought herself a bow and arrow set, taught herself how to use it and then also showed her little sister Bo.
They both decided to bake some Christmas cookies choosing flavors and shapes themselves and I helped when they asked me to.
After spending the morning by the pool where Bo was proud to present her new self-acquired diving skills, the two had the idea of having lunch in the park and invited their friend so we had a nice picnic. They played basketball, then used the field as their stage performing silly dances to each other. I sat and watched π
Apart from that lots of other #childledlearning moments happened that I didnβt catch on camera π
In short, there are endless opportunities to #learnwithoutschool and without pressure, just by letting kids follow their interests and supporting their ideas π₯°

That's awesome! Looks like fun!
I think the understory of forested areas is the natural habitat for chickens. It could be why they prefer being in trees.
I hear you... π
I've felt similar the past year too.
Thank God for nature!
That's awesome! Enjoy your extended stay! π
I wish I could go back. I enjoyed spending a few months there a couple years ago.
It seems to me you've described a family as it should be?
That makes sense.
I like how child-led education is easy to understand, as a concept, by most people.
I have been thinking about the term #unschooling lately. It seems to have a kind of negative vibe for the normies, and it mostly tells us what this type of learning is not.
The term #worldschooling has a positive vibe, but not everyone can/wants to travel the world for their kids education.
My proposal is the term #SovereignLearning.
Well it may not be that original since there's nostr:npub1s0veng2gvfwr62acrxhnqexq76sj6ldg3a5t935jy8e6w3shr5vsnwrmq5. But anyways, what do you all think?
