One thing i see with bible thumpers is they find whatever truth they want in it. Thousands of secs and denominations all finding different truths they want to find.
All true denominations and churches are founded upon shared core theological beliefs summarized in historic statements like the Nicene Creed. Despite various Christians disagreeing on various important but secondary points, the creeds and confessions provide distillations of the fundamentals of the faith. Any denominations or sects or churches that depart from the fundamentals are not adhering to the historic Christian faith and are therefore finding "whatever truth they want" in the Bible. Sinners gonna sin.

I thought it was all brain washing for the the majority of my life. Funny thing is, I had never actually read the Bible. Verify, don't trust, right?
Don't judge the truth of the Bible itself by the fallible actions of sinful men doing their best to interpret and live out the life it encourages. Read the text yourself. Judge for yourself.

I usually avoid engaging with what can be categorized as a "dishonest skeptic" or someone who isn't arguing in good faith. Sometimes, however, I find it useful for the sake of onlookers. Whether a bot or a real person, the arguments I am making are not for this account (which has demonstrated hostility and disinterest in legitimate discussion) but for anyone else who comes across this thread.
