I have a sneaky suspicion that the “beef” between Israel and Iran has been pure theater for decades.

They did not touch Iran's energy infrastructure.
Iran's 2 "attacks" were largely negated.
Israel's "retaliation" was muted at best.
The incumbent US Administration cannot survive this election with high oil prices.
I smell a rat. Something isn't right.
My observation is that the global powers pressure them to avoid escalation as for now they don't like to start WW3.
Russia supports Iran but also pressure them to deescalate.
USA supports Israel but also pressure them to deescalate.
So both of them do a limited responses to 'wash their faces' and not be considered weak. The rest is mostly an effect.
Whatever it is, I take that any day over an all out war.
Been having the same suspicion for a long time. Many of Iran’s direct attacks have done little, same for Israel. Not sure on the purpose other than to keep a lid on all out war. Plenty of other possibilities.
