My father's first girlfriend was 18 when they started dating - he was 24. He had known her and her family for four years before that. My dad was the best man at her sister's wedding. Now. forty years after that, they are back together. Was that grooming?

Link? Although I do think that some teens, those without any type of parental or other support, may be duped into doing things that they may not understand, but that applies to anyone of any age - in fact, elders may be even more susceptible to those evildoers than teens are.
Every case must be evaluated on its own terms and circumstances. There is no "formula".
