ok so my copy of Soft War arrived in the mail today:

reading it as I can and here are some thoughts:

Ok, page 34 is where it's at. I'm slugging through Soft War. up until this point it has been difficult to read.

However that all changed on page 34. Section 1.3.8 "Soft War could be Worth every Watt". Over what was a caucaphonous symphony of ideas of war, law, software there emerged a grand theme that is worth my $45. Engaging in bitcoin is engaging in war. According to Lowery, "War has major benefits for society no matter how much society hates to admit it" (1.3.3). Engaging in bitcoin is engaging in a "soft" war of faster computing and rostering energy in a sort of nuclear arsenal 2.0.

And my favorite sentence: "Systemic security hazards (e.g. oppressive ruling classes) could be stopped before they escalated into widescale losses, as is often the case for citizens who wait too long to go to war (1.3.8)."

The soft war precedes the kinetic war, and it also may preempt it.

we probably already knew this. but i think i was struggling with the idea of how bitcoin is peaceful. And i think this book is helping me answer that question because it's actually not peaceful in and of itself. the war is contained within bitcoin somehow...and i'm hoping the rest of this book tells me how.

I’m glad you’re finding value in that book. I’ve yet to read mine, still in the lineup. I have watched his videos though and like his different takes. Bitcoin is the power to fix a lot more than just the money. Bitcoin also provides endless rabbit holes. Love it!
