Let me chime in with my unsolicited opinion.

Simply put, capitalism is a socioeconomic system characterized by the respect for property rights.

Anything that’s outside of the scope of that definition is not capitalism.

I see too many people get caught up in the weeds on this subject.

If your problem is with something other than a system that respects property rights, then your problem is not with capitalism.

Capitalism is not a panacea for societal flourishing. You need other things like shared values, a moral framework, history, language, customs, etc., to have a cohesive and thriving society.
