When autonomous cars are widespread, I wonder if only licensed operators, like Uber and other monopolies, will be able to operate them. Due to safety concerns of course. That way private individuals will be able to own nothing and be happy.

Is this the case in San Francisco, China or any other places with electric cars?

I assume the end game of it is to be state controlled, having all the cars linked to a centralized control system, so even if a person could own one, they wouldnt actually own it.

Yeah good point. It would track you everywhere you go. And be linked to your digital id and bank account so that if you do anything wrong, it can be turned off and seized from you

My thoughts exactly. Its really the most logical conclusion imho.

This sure is one view. But the other view is you CAN still own a car and put it in the fleet when you are not using it.

Car ownership will become like horse ownership - more of a hobby OR a business (someone has to maintain the fleet or herd of race horses).

Those just starting out in life will save a LOT of money not owning a car. The wise new humans will save their energy in #Bitcoin and eventually own a autonomous car if they want - or purse other interests.

There are always dystopian views of new technology. But history shows technology advances free us more than enslave us.

A few thousand years ago nearly all people were slaves. This has gradually decreased with technological growth. It will continue. Tech actually has little to do with enslavement, which is actually related to how much the citizens give up their freedom to Government. Government owning money for the last few thousand years has more created an environment of 'own nothing and be happy' than anything in human history. Once Government does not control the money and we are on a #Bitcoin standard it will be the first time in modern human history Government can't enslave us.

That's a good point. Pay per ride, no need to have a car parked at your house, open source software etc.

I guess I was referring to the how governments and big tech will try to use EVs against us.

But I do agree with your more positive outlook. Thanks to BTC ofc 🫡

As long as government exists, it will control the money. There will never be a bitcoin standard, especially when far too many embrace government regulations and government hording of btc.

Well, we will definitely agree to disagree.

Remember: #Bitcoin really can't be horded once you are on a Bitcoin standard. The reason it's being horded now is because FIAT exists. People can print FIAT and buy Bitcoin.

Once the fiat system purchasing power disintegrates to nothing, people will have to spend their Bitcoin to buy things. Meaning we have a REAL money system that can't be cheated (Government can't print what you have to work for).

This is a hard concept to understand because we were all brainwashed into this fiat system of slavery. It's so engrained, we don't even see what real money is anymore unless you READ a ton of books on history of civilization, history of money, the Fed, and Bitcoin.

Money is an exchange of human energy. The US$ is not money - it's a currency created out of thin air that has no value OTHER than someone else will accept it for their work/energy. FIAT has 100% always crashed at some point - it's never worked. BUT we keep trying due to lack of other options and control by those that have the ability to benefit from the free printing press.

It's coming. We will definitely have money outside of Government. But I will admit they will not give up that power/control of people easily.

There will be no bitcoin standard. Why would the Banksters give up their chokehold on humanity? Time to take a step beck from your echo chamber and wake up to reality. But you do you. Hopium is one hell of drug.

No chance at all?

Not unless the Banksters can use it to their advantage. Its being regulated, tokenized, finacalized, hoarded by government. That tell me it is exactly zero threat to them. Who gets arrested in the btc space? Anyone who tries to improve privacy. Not people who just buy or spend it.
