Ugh. Apparently I noobed it up late last night and only built my server with the default 100GB logical volume instead of 2TB. Bitcoin Core stopped syncing last night. It should be almost done. Dammit.

Do you remember what block height that took you too?

it was somewhere around 407,000.

the blocks are pretty empty until around 2017.

It happen's...

don't tell anyone 😟

🀭🫑

Slow down man πŸ«‚

dude i gotta get my node back up before people close channels 😟

ooooo shit, didn’t realize that part.

Time to add redundancy too now πŸ™ƒ

Just had that happen. Got a 2TB drive in from Amazon yesterday so I had to shut my umbrel node down to clone my 1TB drive to the 2TB. Worked fine.. just had to fix the partition with gparted to get the full 2TB recognized. Anyways.. my node was down all night due to the cloning and sure enough I fire it up and 2 channels remote closed.

ugh that sucks.

i blame you for keeping me up so damn late last night 🀣

I’m picturing a kid running down the stairs in excitement on Christmas morning only to find a present he didn’t want.

That kind of let down?

YES.

this is it exactly. i was assuming i'd be close to being done, all smiles on my face, and then i saw it and i immediately knew. such disappointment.

Channel the anger… I’ll absorb

Sorry that happened. It will get there and you won’t do it again, I’ll bet.

Ouch!

I think I made the same mistake last week installing Ubuntu server. Did I miss an option during install, or was I supposed to manually expand the logical volume after OS install? I manually expanded (lvm lvextend ...) the volume after my first attempt to sync filled all available space and froze.

yep, same here. ubuntu server has a section to do this when you're installing it. the default sets it to 100GB. you have to manually change this to the max. i haven't installed ubuntu server in a while and forgot it won't do this automatically for you. but yeah, it's just a simple extend and grow πŸ˜‰
