We are including the full sha256 hash of images and videos in the URLs we post (and sign) and if anything important to us gets taken down we can reupload it and "repair" the links.

The idea to reference data blobs by their sha256 hash seems to keep popping up in different places. It produces a globally unique identifier that doubles as a cryptographic "signature" and checksum. Very similar to the idea of using your public key as your identity. I think it's a splendid design pattern.
Goes to show Nostr's superpower is really identity.
