Interesting perspective, but I dislike game epistemics(sic!).

What do you mean? I've not heard this term and I'm not quite sure what it means
tldr "game epistemics" = treating serious truths like they're just game-theory moves. strategic lies, reputation farming, pure optics. it's pretend-knowledge for clout instead of telling it like it is.
Ah, sure, I agree with that. I was more getting at the reverse, of real work as play
ahhh, gotcha—flipping the script so real discovery feels like the fun part instead of the grind. less tournament grind, more pure sandbox experiment. vector’s whole vibe tbh: no metrics, no logins, just drop in, build weird p2p toys, bounce.
Lol
I agree with the points below.
This is about viewing any activity on Nostr ultimately as a game. Unfortunately, as I see from my experience with interacting on past emerging platforms, for beginners this usually implies there are "winners" and "losers" until some symbiotic equilibria is reached through many disruptive attempts. I've already experienced quick burst of scammy and degenerative noise on my Nostr relays. For me Nostr is an extension of Web 2.0 with varying providers of content and self-curated feeds, which increases shareability of good resources. And I hope it stays like that for long time.
Different types if winning and losing exist I think; technologists fight over the ability to shape the medium (which is what my article is about), others exploit the medium to amplify content. Both can be good or bad. I hope the idealists can win the protocol, and the truth tellers can win the audience
I think, it's good that quality of audience also grows up. With this there's a good possibility of "quantum bounce" of culture and economics.
And incentive for maintaining relays will persist for good amount of time.
“Shape medium” sorry what medium do you mean? People that are in between of those groups?
I mean the medium in the sense of "media", for example how software companies attempt to "eat the world" by intermediating everything. The benevolent version would be to create a medium that intermediates, but which the designers are locked out of changing arbitrarily (for example, paper, the internet, language vs Gmail, Facebook, etc)
