The value is in the hardware infrastructure, the channel management, and the liquidity management.

Sausages. Why doesn't everyone just make them themselves? Because, not everyone cares about how the sausages are made. They just want to eat delicious spicy meat.

I come at it from a hardware / netwoking perspective, It's the same reason I tell people not to run a bitcoin full node on a raspberry pi. It's a fun toy for hobbiest projects, not critical infrastructure. And what you spend on an RasPi, power supply, case, SD card, and 2tb external USB drive, you could buy a decent dell optiplex, and those break waaaay less often than RasPi's.

The relay/node doesn't belong on the phone. A trimmed local database, sure, but not the whole fucking backend.

If I want to send you 21 sats, I have to send 11 sats to Zeus. How does that make any sense?

If normies want everything to be easy, and idiot proof, just use a credit card or PayPal.

I agree here. It doesn't make sense for sending pennies. It makes more sense for actual transactions in the real world. Not Zaps.
