I just set up a nostr:npub1cvqlzvmjercdn0ypsmv8f7j9lge6ahsnueh5rparh53wuswftv4q49yjt3 wallet by first adding a Tapsigner key and then creating a wallet and finally adding the key.
At no point was I presented any seed words to write down, this is normal right?

Correct, Tapsigner doesn’t use BIP39 seed phrases, but raw master private key (XPRV), which is a level lower than seed phrase (a seed phrase is an abstraction over XPRV).
