Please do this. Sometimes I’ve accidentally posted GIFs from Tenor that were like 25MB uncompressed and they completely broke Damus.

Already doing for GIFs, when you upload them. Can’t do anything for external links that do not hit our endpoint 🐶🐾🫡

How much compression are you doing on these? This one in particular looks pretty cruddy on my phone when I blow it up.

It’s the size not optimization. If you paste same IRL in the browser, you’ll get the full size, in Damus it is size for the screen and minimal bandwidth 🐶🐾🫡
