Problem is that culture has stopped incentivizing performing your duty. It actually rewards and praises those who shirk them and reject tradition.

There is a place for those who succeed to be looked to as a goal, motivator, or an example. And many our our elites now are very poor examples

Being an example to others is one of the duties attendant with achievement.

Those who are successful ought to help others to succeed in turn.
