It’s doing a rebuild on the faulty drive right now. Might be an overall win with the new drive being twice the size of the old one 🤙 praying for the best

I don’t think the RAID can be bigger than the smallest drive x number of drives

For sure, it’s an 8-bay 4TB/bay; I’m replacing of the faulty one with an 8TB. and once finished rebuilding, I should be able to the expand capacity

I’m saying I don’t think you can. I think you can only use 4TB of the new drive. If I’m wrong though, lmk, so I can look into that raid software!

I have another 4TB laying around just in case, 5 hours left on the rebuild with the 8TB drive, I’m using QNAP so whatever the latest QTS is

You were totally right! I need to upgrade all my drives to 8TB before I see any benefit

But thankfully the raid is rebuilt!
