I'm fairly convinced it has to do with the (lack of) algorithm. There's lots of good content, probably true on Twitter as well, but "engagement" is the criteria, so that means conflict, etc.

I'd much rather just see the feed as it comes in.

Also, I have always believed the character limit caused huge number of issues & conflicts. Yes, it makes you re-think and write more concisely, but some things just can't be written in one or two sentences, and any attempt to do so is going to invite hostility.

Most posts on nostr seem to be pretty short, but there's always the option to add a few extra words when clarification or nuance is needed.

Twitter conciseness conditioning will take time to wear off imo.
