Hey good nostr folk, what are some current medical scams that are still accepted as normal? Like the ones we'll look back on in 50 years and wonder how we were so dumb to fall for just because a white coat told us to do it

I'll start.. Mammography. Yet another woman that I know went in for a mammogram, was fine, then a few months later developed breast cancer.

And the safe alternative- a thermogram is deemed no good by FDA. Sadly we're at the point where doing the opposite of what they say is probably going to lead to the best health outcomes

Obviously poking newborns repeatedly with mercury and aluminium is another thing we'll eventually come to our senses on. What else y'all got?
