Funny how you go from “I’m going to post random invoices and I will die on this hill” to “I no longer accept free money” and then blackout your pfp. That feels counter-intuitive. Are you running a psyop?

Why refuse v4v gifts people want to offer you? It comes across as oddly insulting.

To be honest, it doesn’t feel genuine. It sounds like a virtuous act, but your post history seems to contradict that significantly—congruency is such an important character trait—it conveys trust.

You may disagree, but time will tell. I guess we'll see. The world is watching. #Nostr notes—with previous pfps—are written in digital stone. I say this with respect, my friend.

pfps means what?

Profile pics

thought so, kk

didn't know they were etched I digital stones but now I know

They are. Sites keep a digital snapshot. Everything you post on Nostr should be assumed permanent—including your profile pic and the timestamp when you posted it.

ye gotta be careful for sure, I just checked on primal and everything is updated to my current PFP.

Snapshots of your Note ID carries all the data with it—including pfp. How much do you trust these random strangers on the internet who run relays?

apparently enough to use this protocol everyday, though, not much trust in general

Nothing here that does not already apply to the in general internet already. Only difference is that things are signed, but frankly, given that the world runs on screenshots currently (leaked conversation or whatever) i dont think the added signature is not as big of a deal in that regard (i.e. getting stuff leaked or resurfaced will most of the time have enough context to attest to its validity, regardless of the source, it being a screenshot or a cryptographically signed thing)
