That's a false dichotomy on their part. We have to address the actual roots of the problem at some point. Obesity isn't the only risk causing factor associated with poor diet and lifestyle either. It's just the most visible from the outside. Drugs won't necessarily fix those issues either. It's all duct tape and I suspect there will be long term effects we can't imagine today. It takes generations to see some outcomes, and by then it could be a much larger crisis. The same is true of drug use in general.

I only support drugs for otherwise hopeless cases. With the understanding that it's just a bandage to get you to your casket a little more comfortably or slowly. But to each their own. I'd never prevent patients and physicians doing what they think is best for them. I just don't want them. I'm choosing a more natural path.

Just one of the many patch-overs we have to deal with in modern society... No one likes dealing with a loss. Even if it makes some things worse, it's still better than a regression to people I guess.
