Battery life in GrapheneIS is trash. My pixel 6a is basically always plugged in.
Unlocked Pixel 8 Pro (512gb) acquired; 2030 #GreatReset device getting dialed in.
Why?
+ 7 year support
+ hardware memory tagging
"8th generation Pixels also bring support for the incredibly powerful hardware memory tagging security feature as part of moving to new ARMv9 CPU cores. #GrapheneOS has experimental support for hardware memory tagging in hardened_malloc available as a user-facing option in the advanced security settings and is quickly moving towards having it enabled by default. It will be used more extensively in the future and is a game changer for protecting against exploitation."

Discussion
That's the case with all smartphones these days.
Really? My 6a battery life is fine, however batt. life is subjective and very dependent on configuration, brightness and screen on time, on wifi, on cellular with good reception, on cellular with bad reception, a lot of switching between 5G/LTE, hotspot use, sandboxed Play Services, user profiles running in background, VPN usage, bluetooth use, multiple apps running websockets with battery optimisation exceptions and so on and so forth.
Bluetooth usually on. VPN rarely on. Everything else default .I charge like three times a day.
That's not right, at all and definitely not a GrapheneOS specific issue at all otherwise we'd be seeing a lot more feedback on it. Battery life across the board on GOS is either comparable to stock or better due to reduced system level footprint of no privileged Play Services.
That's odd to hear. I've heard others complain about the battery life with graphene too. So I figured it was something I couldn't help. I never used stock I bought this phone for grapheneOS but it last no where near asing as my old one plus 6.
I haven’t experienced that myself. I wonder if there’s a good FOSS battery monitor app? I see a couple on F-Droid but have no experience with any of them.
With all due respect you're full of shit. Just scroll through these comments.

Sounds like it’s maybe Google Play Store sandbox that’s the issue? I don’t use that. That’s not enough to draw any conclusions but maybe a variable to consider.
