Voter ID requirements are a poll tax because,

1: IDs are not free

2: they are only obtainable at certain locations, which are often not within reasonable walking distance from residential areas

3: such offices most often have very limited hours of operation and very long lines

Just to name a few issues.

So basically any poor single parent without a vehicle will have a VERY hard time getting an ID, especially if they are working, and many have multiple jobs

I honestly think the sort of people who see the "poor" as unable to do something as basic as get an ID are among the most delusional & bigoted people on the planet.

Again, I have worked with some of the poorest & least educated people, (one literally ended up dying in a trailer alone with no electricity), & they all had ID.

The majority of the folks I work with and interact with on a daily basis are VERY poor, many are homeless. I hear thier struggles every day and I can tell you, many of them struggle to maintain an up-to-date ID.
