Did it get bombed or something ?

i wish that was the case. highways and cars destroyed it.

So they knocked all them lovely buildings to make a highway ?

yup. happened everywhere in America. here’s another example

That seems so senseless , just build the highway around the town?

you’d think they’d be smart enough for that. it was intentional. they don’t want people in America to have beautiful things.

Goodness !

EXACTLY!... That's why the iconic monuments known as the World trade towers were destroyed. Think about it..🤔😱😊

In a similar thread, this podcast was mentioned. It's very insighful in how the American system of urban development works.

If you listened to the podcast episode, also listen to the referenced 'Strong Towns Conversation with an Engineer':

You have to forgive the robo voices on that one.

Are you in town? The meetup here is next week

i live in stl!

Are there any bitcoin meetups there?

yes !!

Send me some links, I'm back there often from kc.

Go MO Bitcoin crew!!

There is no way that can be the same spot.

it is

Just crazy!

It makes you wonder if it wasn't some kind of concerted effort, perhaps due to something underground. Just think of all the infrastructure that was abandoned, water, electricity, etc.

nah, America just likes cars and totally was not infiltrated by any lobbying towards more car centrism, highways needed to be built.

Also, there seemed to be a push to destroy anything that could cement America as a historically enriched country, and make everyone fucking depressed. just fiat things

I've noticed this to, there are people who don't want the US to have a rich history and culture. And as long as the average person is too busy chasing their fiat dreams they will never take the time to build and preserve their heritage. Makes them much easier to control. I wonder, how much the banks have had to do with this?
