This is a test run for the government using such morality tests for things well beyond the 'acceptable' target and purpose. Consider how the patriot act was implemented under such a guise and how much both political parties have abused the american people with their shiny new powers. In 5 years we will be social media testing US Citizens for all kinds of shit after they successfully see little / no resistance in this first go.

You should consider that this has nothing to do with the targets themselves...that is where much of the outrage comes from.
