I installed Tailscale on my node pc. So if I use Tor, will that hide my VPN ip from Tailscale?

Is my ip already hidden by using the vpn?

Your node is still on TOR, the Tailscale VPN is a private direct tunnel between your devices so Tor can be bypassed by just you

Yup, & also allows for you to connect to your node anywhere in the world through Tor Browser.

Exactly, if you were using clearnet you’d only be able to access your node via being on the same local network

This is not correct. Tailscale you can access your node remotely even if you're using clearnet

Ahh good point. I was actually comparing Clearnet with no Tailscale vs Tor with Tailscale but you are right

My recommendation: keep bitcoin behind tor, for lightning check tunnelsats (it announces your node to clearnet, but hides your ip behind vpn) it will improve your ln experience and speed massively, and remotely connect to your ln node through tailscale or zerotier so you can quickly pay with your phone
