Ideally the onramp does more than just give you your first nostr pubkey. It should let you hit the ground running. Which means: easy to find what you want. Apps, content, everything at your fingertips.
We need a google for nostr.

Would be cool to have a google for nostr.
But if your onboarding was thru social media, you still face the challenge for getting up and running. How does a google solve that? It's all about how apps hand hold the user until they're comfortable with taking their own nsec
I envision tools that allow you to “be your own google”, which means: search and content discovery, like legacy google, but anchored to your WoT. With the proper tools, your trusted community will help you find the apps, content, etc that are best suited to your personal preferences. Once these tools are sufficiently sophisticated, your WoT will also be able to tell you when you’re ready to manage your own nsec, which options are available, and which of those options is probably the best for you.
Not sure if that addresses your concern …
I like the idea of finding content/tools through WoT for sure.
But I was talking about onboarding - first time you're exposed to nostr
I would say that one of the big problems that new users face is content discovery. If you only follow one or a few npubs, your feed will be pretty sparse, and it can take considerable effort to find who to follow. This is where WoT can help: even with only one or a few follows, your GrapeRank content feed can be fleshed out immediately (ie feed = top N npubs based on GrapeRank score).
What other onboarding problems do you have in mind?
Sure. That is the second step and mostly for social media.
I'm talking about how to deal with nsec and/or wallet when first coming to nostr. Too much information and you lose people
