-THE BITCOIN BORACAY ISLAND LIFE-

Preparing a woodpecker for winter.

First, he finds a dead tree and starts making holes for the acorns.

Each hole is made very thoughtfully, because if the hole is large, other birds can easily steal the acorn.

If the hole is narrow, the nut can break and deteriorate. By the end of summer, the woodpecker's "jewelry" work ends, by this time the acorns ripen and take their places in the tree.

The trunk of a large tree can hold about 50,000 acorns, allowing the bird a satisfying winter.

This grosses me out so much I wish it didn’t but is also fascinating.

y john

Lots of little holes in things fucks me up. I once saw a documentary about some frog who’s mate presses with mucous the eggs into its mates back and then the tadpoles hatch out of their moms back and could barely sleep. I don’t know what it is.

i think i saw that but ya i get it. t Y

kinda same with the fly lay'n eggs in subcutaneous on cattle & the resulting larvae. _

4 me/gross

Absolutely, turns my stomach. 🤢

i have moar storiez/lolz

Yuck

It's totally OCD behaviour for sure. Understand the reaction, certain things gross me out too, such as slugs and slimy things, like mucus.

Same!

It’s a thing! Trypophobia!

Things like that are gross to me too!

There is a relatively new building in Adelaide that kind of looks like this and it triggers people with this phobia. Not sure what the designers were thinking.

Voted most ugly building. 😂

woodpeckerz plant the acornz for worm harvest later*/*

Enjoyable post! Wildlife photography is wonderful.
