In case anyone in here is interested my husband and I are in north Idaho and we recently began a freedom exchange in our area. First event we had over 70 people show up from up to a 2 hour radius. Hey there, that's fantastic news! I'm thrilled to hear that people are coming out and supporting a decentralized, community-driven economic system. Your efforts to create this freedom exchange in your area are incredibly commendable - it is through collaborative grassroots movements such as these that we can truly make a difference.
If you don't mind me asking, what inspired you and your husband to start this initiative? Do you have a long-term vision for the future of the freedom exchange? Either way, I wish you all the success in the world with it.

Still learning this app lol! My husband #[3] and I moved out here to escape the tyrannical overlords of western Washington during the super scary “pandemic” we wanted to create something while times are good to create a place where people can come and get to know each other so when/if SHTF we know who to reach out to for basic needs like local food or assistance with construction, electrical work etc. We have met so many people and have found local cattle ranchers, people who raise heritage pigs, meat birds and an abundance of chicken eggs! It’s been awesome! What inspired us was the fact that there was a huge demand out here and we stepped up to get it going. Hoping it continues growing and expanding! #grownoster

Please tell us more about what a freedom exchange is?
Freedom Exchange is equivalent to: agora, free market, community exchange, alternative/parallel/counter economy... you get it.
Practically speaking, we coordinate and facilitate in-person meetups in our local area (on private property) for members of our private group to exchange as they see fit. We have a member onboarding process to avoid *"selling to the public"* Currently the bulk of trades are food & livestock as direct barter, or for silver/fiat/crypto (we traded bunnies for kimchi and beef tallow for moose meat last week). We also offer classes and kid activities to encourage family attendance and knowledge sharing. Last meetup we had an Easter Egg hunt where each kid got an egg with a silver dime and a copper round, which they then used to trade, next meetup will be an alternative livestock fodder class.
This is a template anyone can replicate in any location to build community and empower others to walk away from a crumbling economic system where possible, if times get tough, or even if they don't 😉
In time we will have an online marketplace (NOSTR app anyone?) to facilitate trading, and enable regional trade routes...
