I'm used to people calling me inauthentic at this point.

I'm just a bird and everyone knows birds aren't real.

Joking aside, it is kind of odd how authenticity is determined.

Most people would consider my name to be a "nym" but I consider it to be perhaps more telling about who I am than my "legal name" is.

Great nym. Words have power and names have meanings. πŸ™

Thank you. It was given to me by a 90+ year old Medicine Man.

You’re absolutely right. The book I am working on is planned to be called β€œWhat’s in a name?” (along with some kind of subtitle). Much of my work involves etymology and morphology which plays into the title however this whole research bender wouldn’t be what it is without the Medicine Man encounter and naming.

Oh .. where did you bump into a medicine man?

I don't even know what he looks like. I've never been in the same room with him. Never heard his voice either.

The encounter was facilitated remotely by a member of his tribe.

He normally does not operate that way. He even scolded her for arranging the remote encounter but afterwards, I think he understood why she did it.

I'd been orange pilling a small libertarian internet community in 2022 that she was a part of so after a year plus of shared experience, her curiosity about me drove her to make the request and facilitate the remote encounter as the "go between" in the middle.

The Pascua Yaqui tribe is mostly located in the US southwest and extends somewhat into Mexico.
