There are now 2 homeless guys living in my quiet Melbourne suburb.

One has occupied a recessed fire door in a warehouse, pretty sure he works based on all the hivis (funny that autocorrects to hobos) clothing he has. Second guy has setup camp in the trees at a local park.

I’ve seen more homeless people in the CBD this week than I can ever recall, probably double.

All anecdotal of course but it’s becoming more obvious that people are struggling here and the bills are only getting worse. We’re not at San Fran levels by any stretch, but it’s also a lot worse than Melbourne has been. nostr:note1lmccr2mkash37329ju38eehjfans8enupq2yyg9clcsx47tc6rws78283x

I'm in rural SA and I've noticed people living in cars around the place, never seen that before. The peak is yet to come I reckon.

Yeah I’ve seen more van-lifers but I just attributed to summer travels but possible it’s people who can’t afford housing. Don’t know how bad it will get but this for sure isn’t the peak.
