I'm back home with an unwell little boy.

He was telling me he was feeling cold and tired, so I got him into our bed so I could sit with him. His temperature was raised, but his hands and feet felt cold.

I gave him a small amount of acetaminophen to help him, and just as it was getting to work he had another febrile convulsion, as he did back in the summer.

At least I knew what was happening this time,

but it's still very scary.

I just made sure he stayed on the bed, held his hand and calmly spoke to him to reassure him, despite my worries.

After struggling to breathe and turning blue for a minute, he just fell asleep and started breathing normally again.

The whole episode lasted for just over 2 minutes. Doctors say it's fine if the seizure lasts for less than 5 minutes. But even those 2 minutes seemed like a long time while it was happening.
