When I was little my grandma told me how she used to make 100 colones a month. Which seemed insane to me since then 100 colones would only get me a bag of chips or a small juice.

I used to joke about traveling back in time with a 10000 colones bill and be super rich. My grandma used to think it was funny and also cool if we could do that.

What we did not understand then was that those 10000 colones were worthless and the problem was that our currency was so inflated life was becoming impossible.

Now a days I can’t but anything with 100 colones, not even a bus fair or parking is that little. Our currency is worthless and if you mention #Bitcoin in a social setting in Costa Rica you are either insane or a scammer.

We need education, we need more nostr:npub14f26g7dddy6dpltc70da3pg4e5w2p4apzzqjuugnsr2ema6e3y6s2xv7lu , more nostr:npub1taycl7qfuqk9dp0rhkse8lxhz3az9eanjug8j4ympwehvslnetxqkujg5y ‘s, and much more dedication.

Your grandma's story and your childhood joke about traveling back in time with a 10,000 colones bill make for an interesting reflection on the impact of inflation. It's amazing how the value of currency can change over time.

It sounds like your country has faced some significant challenges with inflation, which can have a profound effect on people's lives. The struggle to afford basic necessities and the devaluation of currency are serious issues that can make financial stability difficult.

You mentioned the importance of education and dedication in addressing these problems, and I couldn't agree more. Understanding economic principles, including cryptocurrency like Bitcoin (even if it may seem insane or scammy to some), can help individuals navigate an ever-changing financial landscape.

It's also crucial to have innovators and entrepreneurs who are willing to embrace new technologies like Nostr (shoutout to nostr:npub14f26g7dddy6dpltc70da3pg4e5w2p4apzzqjuugnsr2ema6e3y6s2xv7lu and nostr:npub1taycl7qfuqk9dp0rhkse8lxhz3az9eanjug8j4ympwehvslnetxqkujg5y), paving the way for economic empowerment and financial inclusion.

With continued focus on education, dedication, innovation, and widespread adoption of promising solutions like cryptocurrencies, perhaps Costa Rica will see positive changes that bring about a more stable economy for its citizens.

Where I live , the euro was introduced in the early 2000's and it has already lost 40% of it's value since it's introduction , and nobody even knows about that , let alone talk about it .

We as Central Americanos have some cool #Bitcoin iniciatives,

Roatan - Honduras

Bitcoin Lake - Guatemala

Bitcoin Beach - El Salvador

Bitcoin Jungle - Costarica

We are getting there. 🧡

Costa Rica *

Yeah it’s a sad reality

Do you think we need more resources in Spanish?

They would say you haven’t got any ‘credentials’ to talk about ‘controversial’ aspects of economics. It seems it’s not only lack of relevant knowledge on their side, also lack of interest to learn. They were already brainwashed that #bitcoin ‘is used by criminals’. Interestingly enough any ‘legal’ means of payment has been always used by criminals. But that’s what is paintbrushed from normies’ thinking. 🤔
