I did a silent payment via BTC and I don't see what is silent about it? Am I missing something?

pTo the sender, a silent payment looks like a regular Bitcoin payment. However, on the receiver side is where silent payments actually shine because they are a lot like Monero stealth addresses.

After reading your comment and going back and checking it out, you seem to be correct on this, it's neat.

Definitely an improvement but one difference with Silent Payments is the sender can naively find the "true" address it was sent to and see what the receiver does with it afterwards. With Stealth Addresses that isn't possible.

That's true. Silent payments are not as good as Monero stealth addresses, but they get closer anyway. My thought is if you're going to go through the trouble to use silent payments, just use Monero.

Silent payments are super underrated.

I'm Sure a lot of trade offs are happening

But TLDR

+ More security

- Much longer confirmation time

well, youre not supposed to tell anyone, duh 😅
