Last time we checked, it didn't have the udev rules packaged and we didn't want to add more instructions to work around desktop Linux usability issues. We have enough workarounds for problems caused by operating system deficiencies and really don't want to add manual udev rule installation instructions or explain how to use a third party repository for it.
