Quick question: is anyone getting paid in Bitcoin by their employer?

How do you manage fiat payments, especially large ones?

- selling on exchanges

- getting loans using bitcoin as collateral

- using a debit card linked to your btc stack,

- ...

(mostly interested in options available to EU residents, thanks!)

I’m not in the EU, but curious about this too.

This is my plan currently. I am trying to convince my family to accept swap my btc for their fiat (so long as they have).

It’s a win win, I get them to save a bit in hard money, and I get access to fiat at spot rate, without going though a exchange or anything.

Nice!

Of course, there might still be taxes on capital gains to be considered (depending on local regulations).

I replied on my own thread 🤦‍♂️ message follows:

Hmmm… that is a good point, I don’t know how exactly it would work, but I suppose that it would immediately be considered a taxable event to go from an address you own to an address you don’t . That’s a bit irritating, I and to be honest I don’t know how it’s going to be regulated.

Interesting times we live in.

If you are in France bull bitcoin is a fantastic suite of bitcoin to fiat rails

Noted. Thanks!

Dan what about on vacation there? Bull Bitcoin?

I just reviewed a new interesting option by nostr:npub1zv7d9l5ac0zdzeh5mzfyaegcdgcwn8m2uaxdpsj93hgp4nqjmd0s6k82ke, have a look here: https://blockdyor.com/pocket-bitcoin-wage-payments/

As a freelance programmer i proposed to many of my customers to pay me in sats, with a discount on the final price if so.

So currently that's a problem i would like to face, but not yet got to.

I know it's not easy but there are many ways to sell your bitcoin peer to peer in italy for cash.

P2P/OTC selling is indeed an option.

Which platform would you be willing to try?

How about borrowing against btc?

(disclosure: I work for Firefish.io)

This whole topic of surviving on BTC while living in a fiat economy is so important in this transition phase.

Using Strike but that is currently US only

@Strike bill pay.

Strike offers direct deposit to receive your paychecks fully in bitcoin! Not sure if they are in EU with this feature tho

You can get almost anything for bitcoin at the shopinbit.com concierge agent.

More generally speaking, find someone who wants to stack sats and has a bank account to make the fiat payment.

Really a great topic as EU resident.
