I managed to jimmy it out the top. I think the filament is old and shitty.

very possible.. you could switch filament and kick it up 5-10 degrees then back down, to defer maintenance.. maybe 🫡

Filament storage boxes can extend the life of your filament by a ton, especially if you live in an area with extremes of humidity.

some polymers are more prone to decay than others. don't use that type in your printer.

it could just be the type of plastic is not smooth enough for the feeder that it got caught in also.
