I think there are many advantages to Nostr - some of which include curating your own feed - and I think with open source AI, algo curation could be better, so long as users are their own tuners. And perhaps with bridges to other social media, Nostr might become a primary hub as it allows users to customize their own feed? Another option is enabling parents to tune their own parental control algo - you don't need social media or the govt to decide how your kids should be raised, you do that. Creativity is endless here. I don’t know if anyone can read this flow or if it's of any use, but might explain the thought process better

Imo kids younger than 16 have no business being on a social network unless it’s specifically for learning like YouTube . And past that age they won’t need parental controls.

Maybe the apps/clients using Nostr need to get implemented a bit of algo like you said while keeping own feed tuned; like viewing posts from people on the network implemented on Coracle and develop it to include more of the topics each user is interested in (has this been already done on Primal?!).

current detection of TOI are through hashtags which has not been as effective and to change that to keywords requires a lot of work on the root ie database configuration an dhow it captures and categorises etc - i think will (damus), martti (iris) and artur (nostr.band) have been speaking/working on the database config but am not sure of the details.

I am making this flow in a “social onboarding” client. Social because it requires nostr users to share QR/URL invitations for new users to join. Onboarding because it is a client specifically tailored to onboard new users with exactly as this flow describes.

The BIG difference with this app (currently WIP in early stages) is that it does not guide users THROUGH this flow linearly. It allows the new user to explore and discover the various “stages” of account creation and profile preferences with guidance via “built in” messaging and recommendations from the nostr user who invited them.

Apart from the question of whether these ideas are good or not, these can't or shouldn't be implemented at the core level. Maybe at the client level or in an intermediary level, but then you'll have different Implementations and the client may even become just another walled garden.

keeping core simple is good. any /many client(s) can pick this up. high volume of user is just another gateway to many other digital innovations and entrepreneurship on nostr. only way to overcome any walled garden in life is to keep imaginations wild.
