Proof of thunderstorms: backyard rain lilies! You can’t tell these exist until 2-3 days after a heavy rain. Then they appear, flower, and die back down within a few days. Mine are white to light pink. Bee for scale.

That’s amazing. Never knew about rain lilies before. Did you plant these or are they naturally occurring in your part of the country?
My mom planted a half dozen about 20 years ago, transplants from her house. The number that come up depends how much rain we get - I’ve seen as few as 10 and then this time it’s a bumper crop. I think they can be found throughout Texas. I’ve seen them “in the wild” at nature centers and on hiking trails.
