They have a crappy job, kids, both parents work and struggle to pay bills, they are neck deep or worse in debt, they have no real friendships, their marriage is shaky, and there seems to be no way out. They are fat, tired, stressed, and can't even begin to wonder about what life could be like if they started making small changes now.
Having started working at walmart, my empathy for the "people of walmart" has grown. These are sad people that are being horribly exploited, and they don't even know that life can be better.
So they spend more money than they have to at Walmart instead of buying higher quality cheaper cuts of meat from the butcher? 🤔 It sounds like they're working against their own self interests just because of loyalty to Walmart
Meat in my area is NOT cheaper than Walmart, even if you buy a whole beef at a time. I don't know about pork. Chicken is probably cheaper, but I don't bother buying birds.

Growing my own vegetables, raising my own livestock, supporting my local butcher (because the meat from the butcher is half the price and exceptionally better quality than the supermarket.
