Movies are made in other countries? Where? Nobody watches those lame films.

You cannot imagine how many "American" movies are made outside USA.

Browsing movies on my self-hosted Jellyserr server keeps me in the loop on that one.

A movie's country of Origin is one of the fields it displays.

Is this a serious comment?

It's a very tongue in cheek comment.

Regardless, a lot of movies are made in my home state of Utah ... for many reasons.

Amazing scenery with lots of variety, as well as many of the reasons they film in Canada.

Word. Yes, Utah is beautiful. Especially good for Westerns.

I would love to see more productions happen in the US with US crews. But there should probably be a carve out if the storyline of the film requires an oversees location… like a WWII film set in Europe for example. Can’t really fake that backdrop.

How about a 100% tariff on movies made with AI? Save the best boy, gaffer, and keygrip jobs!

Next, tariff on all beach using sea water that came from another country.

Could we consider that as a hidden censorship ?

Like movie creator will not spend money to « exportĀ Ā» their movies to US if they don’t make any benefits (especially small creator that don’t have a lot of funds …) so a lot of worldwide made movies couldn’t be easily and legally watched in USA, I think sometimes some movies or documentary can open minds no ?

Soon we'll be asking Canada and Mexico to smuggle in flash drives full of movies like people do for North Korea lol
