not your keys, not your corn means not your keys, not your bitcoin. this means if you don't own the keys to your bitcoin, then it's someone else's bitcoin. therefore, if you keep any bitcoin on an exchange, where they don't give you the keys, you don't own the bitcoin. you only own a receipt or an IOU.
