People generally don't fact check , I agree with you on that point.
I take umbrage, not at the notion that someone might verify this or that data, it would be to everyones benefit if they did, but rather that the process of fact checking becoming outsourced and centralised in the hands of would be truth-tsars, and the common man becomes barred from the process outright.
