Yeah, they definitely deserve a thanks if I screw up scanning something, but I usually don't.
The theft thing drives me nuts. My neighbor worked in theft prevention for almost 20 years & got fired for grabbing somebody by the arm. Everything is a lawsuit now, so I guess it's cheaper to be sued for wrongful termination than for bodily harm.

It's sad the way things have gone, and there's really no one to blame besides the slow creep of beaurocracy... and the money.
blame? plenty of people you can point at who keep pushing reasonable people to accept further decay of their morality
and those who allow that, and don't get anrgy as fuck and start to actively do something to fight the system? they are almost worse than the instigators who want to get a free ride and all the things tehy like without consequences or costs

At some point, a system becomes a living, breathing thing with all its parts just trying to keep it alive & relevant. I don't believe in the prevelance of malice. (Not that it doesn't exist)
I don't know, it takes all types to create meaningful change, but anger just isn't my tool. I can acknowledge something is wrong & choose different actions to try to change course. I get it, though.
