It’s 2025. We have AI that can generate fully functional applications and feature length films. But somehow we still settle for printers that LITERALLY JUST DO THEIR FUCKING JOB. 😂

I only like the old printers. The ones that let me scan money. Not send an alert to the FBI if I try to like any modern one.

They can print money out of thin air, but you cant.

The screwdriver of our era

Can ai change the printer cartridges, I think not.

You know it is always the person that says “who needs printers anymore”…”um actually can you print something for me”

I have had the same printer since 2008. It has one job and it does it perfectly 😁

You won the lottery.

Mine is 6 years old, paid €82 and is still working. Only thing that broke early was the duplex module, but single sided is flawless. I wonder how they're still in business, as I buy off-brand toner.

"functional applications" haha

they are just like photocopies, complete with the grainy bits

you should try to get an LLM to write a nostr relay in Go or Rust or C++

have fun!

javascript is like a dot matrix printer

real programming languages are like 1200dpi dye sublimation printouts

the AI can't store that much detail unless you feed it that much more data and have that much more size of the model (i think maybe it would sorta work ok if you had a 1tb model

> This all sucks and AI will make it even shittier in ways everyone understands and no one seems likely to stop because noticing it too much would lead a number of tech executives to consider the consequences of their decisions.

😂 didn’t even get that far in the article.

Everyone's desperate for a wider profit margin. Gotten so hard to make any money.
