How does the Australian age ban work in practice? Is it forcing Twitter, FB, etc to KYC in their apps? At what step is the KYC happening, at the App Store level? Can you download Nostr clients on mobile without KYC? Will Nostr clients be banned from Australian app stores if they don’t KYC?

As I understand it requires the companies to demand KYC for user accounts. Nostr not affected because it has no entity to coerce and no accounts.
The client devs can be coerced. Regulators don’t care about the (valid) semantics that an npub/sec isn’t an “account”.
From what I've seen they said apps already have enough data to know if you're underage or not. I think the rule still doesn't apply to small networks like nostr.
