Looked through the list of people I follow. 24% inactive.

Not sure if it’s good or bad for a new network 🤔

prob depends in large part on the selection process for how you chose to follow them?

I followed them because of something they said not who they are, with a few exceptions

I agree with some of them, people are trying this. I have never used Twitter, and if there was not my job I wouldn't know about this and how to use it.

So maybe they will return, maybe not, time will tell us how will Nostr develop. 💜🌴🤙🏻

How do you check this?

I looked through to see which people I haven’t heard from, sometimes checking their profile to see if they said anything in last 2 weeks. Then unfollowed them if it appears they are not around anymore. I was left with fewer people I follow obviously so that’s the fraction. I’m probably a small sample size though my guess is the wider network drop off rate is much higher - at least 35% maybe up to 50. But I’m totally making these numbers up.

Gotcha. That sounds like a very slow process.

I have noticed that I don't hear from a lot of accounts that I follow, but they are posting regularly when I check and many times I'll make a post that only gets like 3 impressions. Not sure whats up with that.

I've noticed similar. I think it depends on the relays you're on?

Kinda what I was thinking as well. I just use the default relays for Amthyst on android and Damus on desktop.

Normal. All this comes in waves. Harder to get people to try again, but some do. But they are small relative to waves of newer people who come on after.

Sometimes also just takes one global event/announcement to be the catalyst to mass migration/adoption

Something tells me it’ll revolve around concrete confidence in Tether finally coming to light imo

yes

Do you think BlueSky is a Nostr killer? A threat at least?

Tui and La

No freemium algorithm to keep you jacked

Cool

Agree. And we're at the bottom of the wave now. I assume the next one is just about to start. To be honest, I assumed some news org would write about you attending our small conference and kick off another wave, but apparently writing falsities about Block was more important right now. #soon

There are more interested to write 💯

The scale was just enough to start small.

I’m not sure I would notice a new wave if there was one 🫤

And the network probably couldn´t handle an influx of millions new users at once at this stage o.O

Is there an easy way to see who’s inactive?

I don’t know. I could just kinda tell who I haven’t seen post in a while since I’m here daily. But I double checked the ones I wasn’t sure about.

Yes many people I got on here were turned off by the laser eyes and Bitcoin circular topics.

Must keep pushing and expanding…

They will come back :)

I agree. I think as niche-specific clients or ways of exploring content come online, more people will come.

The culture is growing

I think if some where bothered by push notifications 🤢 they would interact more

I feel like that's good

People usually get excited and try new things but that excitement fades as they get hit by reality. Natural adoption imo and it will take time

As much as I enjoy reading and learning about BTC from the legends in the space: I think things will jump again when there are more varied relays developed. Music, chow etc.

Bullish

There's a lot of talk about your post.

Pretty good for a folding table set up in the middle of an exhibit hall. What's on your table?

Ive gone through mine twice since joining. Each time I’ve removed at least 100+ because they were inactive for more than 2-3 weeks
