I say yay. They keep you quite warm.

If it’s a fashion statement, no. If it’s utility worn, yes. Them shits warm.

I’ve always kind of liked the look but maybe that’s my old grunge music fan coming through.

Not cotton flannel. Cotton is not good for keeping warm.

I was looking for fleece or lined with wool.

I prefer wool, especially merino, but that's not cheap

merino is super nice i've got some nice merino wool socks that are great

I only wear merino wool socks
